I love you!!!

Hello All
So I had this Dream of a White Christmas, and then I realized I wasn't dreaming. So this week was pretty awesome! It was nice and warm in the High 30's until Christmas. Then the temperature dropped and didn't stop going down. Now its 1 degree and supposed to get colder tomorrow. It has also snowed a lot the past few days so there is about 6-8 inches of snow on the ground right now. The roads are also rather slick which makes driving fun. Thankfully I am not the driver otherwise we might need a new car. However the car we have here in Laurel is a small front Wheel Drive Corolla which just adds to the fun and sliding.
This week has been just full of miracles! The Christmas season is a wonderful time to talk about Christ! Everyone seems to be more open to talking about our Savior and what he did for each of us. This we were blessed to find many people to talk to and share the Gift of Jesus Christ. One amazing Miracle This week happened on Tuesday. Tuesday started out seemingly like a long day. Almost all of our appointments cancelled, and when people cancel we try to find more people to teach. So that's what we did, and we were indeed blessed! Despite the fact that we ended our day with only one set appointments we were blessed to find 5 other people we could teach right then and there! So our 5 set appointments turned into 1 set appointment and 5 impromptu appointments. With those impromptu visits we were blessed with a new investigator and 2 more potentials! IT was amazing! Heavenly Father had His own plan for our day and that was what happened! He needed us to meet some new people and be in certain places at certain times. So almost all of our appointments cancelled and we were able to be in the right place at the right time! In Proverbs 3:5 it Says "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths." The Lord truly directed our paths on that awesome day. I love this work and I love the amazing miracles that happen all the time!

Laurel Montana!!!!

Laurel is a wonderful little town built in the shadow of a massive oil refinery and full of potential! The weather here is not too bad yet either, although this morning it snowed a little bit. The snowflakes here are really BIG!!! I am now serving with Elder Sanders, he is from Missouri and is actually younger than me but he has been out a little bit longer. We are living in an apartment which is nice. It’s not very big but it gets the job done and is easy to clean. I am beginning to Love Laurel.
Laurel has defiantly been a new experience. Thankfully the members here in Laurel are wonderful and extremely helpful. Already this week we have seen many miracles even through the difficulty of a completely new area. We were not left with very much information so we have just started at square one which means Finding. As we have been finding people to talk to we already have been seeing some success. On Sunday night we found ourselves with a short 20 minute window before an appointment so we decided to tract the 8 houses just south of the church building. The 5th house we knocked on was a nice lady that actually let us in! She brought her whole family in and we were able to share with them the Christmas Video called He is the Gift! After that we started talking about the Book of Mormon and she got really excited! As it turned out she is part Native American and has been wondering if Christ ever came to the Native Americans! She was so happy to find out that Christ had indeed visited the Native Americans and that there is a record of that! It was truly amazing to see the simple miracles such as that one, especially this Christmas season!! Merry Christmas to all, and remember that Jesus Christ was the First gift of Christmas.

Merry Christmas

Transfer Calls!!!

So this Christmas I get the gift of transferring to  Laurel Montana! I will miss Cody but there are adventures waiting in Laurel!!! So this week was beautiful weather. It was 50 almost all week. Then on Saturday night it started to rain which turned into snow once it got cold enough. It snowed all though the night and all though Sunday and finally stopped this morning! So now we have about 3-5 inches of snow everywhere! What a great end to the week!!!!!!!!
This whole week has been a great end to my time here in Cody! On Saturday we had the opportunity to help a family paint their house. When we first met them they did not want to hear our message at all but took us up on our offer for service. After we finished the painting they had for us they started asking questions and we were able to have a really good discussion. Before we left they invited us to come back and talk with them more! It was amazing! Through that experience I was able to see how hearts can be softened through service. It has really helped strengthen my testimony of service and how it can have an impact on missionary work. In the Book of Mormon in Mosiah 2:17 it teaches us that "when we are in the service of our fellow beings we are only in the service of our God" and as we serve Him, He will give us more opportunities to serve Him! It is truly amazing to see the blessings that can come through serving others! I love being able to serve others in so many ways! I know that through service doors can and will be opened! I know that we all can feel of the love our Heavenly Father has for us especially when we serve others!

ITS NOT FREEZING!!!!

For now that is! This week was awesome! The weather has been in the 40's all week, it’s almost too hot!!! However the one drawback of warm weather after the snow is mud! There is Mud Everywhere! Thankfully it is really dry here so the mud does not stay for very long!
This week was really busy! I am currently in a trio with Elder Horsley and Elder Gillespie and we are covering both areas. Elder Gillespie's companion got mid-transferred and there will not be a replacement until next week. Covering both areas means we now have double the work! It has been so busy at times that we have had to go on splits with members. It was during one of these splits that I had a really awesome experience. On Saturday we had so many lessons to teach at one point we were actually double booked! Elder Horsley and Elder Gillespie went to go teach one lesson and I went with our ward mission leader to go teach the other lesson. That morning I was kind of uneasy, it would be my first time teaching without another missionary there. That morning I decided to pray for help during the lesson so it could go smoothly and without any trouble. That prayer was definitely answered! The whole time we were there it just seemed to transition perfectly and the Spirit was, without a doubt in my mind, there testifying through the words we spoke! It was an amazing experience. All of us in the room felt the spirit. It truly was one of the most awesome lessons I have ever been in. It really helped to strengthen my testimony of prayer and how our Heavenly Father really does want to help us and if we are doing what we are supposed to he will help us in the times we need it most! I know that the Book of Mormon is indeed the word of God.
Thank you all for the support you give me. I really can feel it helping. I love you all!!

Boots

Hello everybody!

So this week was crazy! On Monday and Tuesday it snowed. Then on Thursday through Friday it was around 50-60 degrees. Then on Saturday it dropped from 50 to -5, and began to snow again! So Sunday morning we woke up to about 6 inches of snow! It was awesome! Also when we got home Saturday night we realized that we had left one of the windows slightly open so our cabin was cold and there was snow inside! However our kottage is now warm and not snowing inside anymore!
This was a super crazy awesome week! Thanksgiving this week was a very long day! We spent almost all of Thanksgiving Day eating! We had two full thanksgiving dinners and another Dessert, not to mention the leftovers that we got as well. Turkey sandwiches for days! It was really nice to eat thanksgiving dinner with a family.
So this week was full of all kinds of miracles! One of the first miracles happened on Monday night. We were out contacting someone that lived in an apartment building. We knocked on their door and no one was home, but just before we left we had the thought to try the door behind us. The lady that opened the door saw who we were and let us right in! As it turned out she has been wanting to read the Book of Mormon for a while but had not had the time to go get one yet! It was awesome! Another awesome experience happened on Tuesday night. One of our lessons cancelled on us so we turned to our backup plan. As we started to drive over to where our backup plan was we both had the thought to turn around and knock on the door next the people that had cancelled. When we did they let us in. It was awesome!
Another Amazing thing is the initiative that the Church has started called HE is the Gift! It is about how Christ is the gift of Christmas. I love this Christmas season! I love the snow even when it blows into our house and I love the gospel of Jesus Christ!

 Snow inside the kottage

Kottage

HELLO!!
This week went by so very fast yet at the same time it felt like such a long time! It has been Awesome!! The weather here is beginning to warm up. If there was no wind than it would be the wonderful temperature of about 40! The snow has melted for the most part which just leaves the ice. Ice is not easy to walk on, especially in dress shoes! I have only fallen twice, but both times were when it was night so at least I had the cover of night.
This week has had some amazing happenings! On Wednesday Elder Horsley and I were able to finally contact a guy who was going to be baptized about a year ago but wasn't. After all this time we finally caught him home. It was Amazing! He let us in and we had a wonderful discussion! The spirit was so strong it was incredible! Throughout the lesson it was amazing to have scriptures pop into my head that were exactly the scripture needed at that moment! I love having the opportunity to talk with people and share with them how they can build on the truth that they already know so that they can come closer to Christ!
Also this week we got the chance to participate in a Mission Leadership Council. Normally it is only for the zone leaders throughout the mission but this month they decided to include everyone! It really was a neat experience to see how those councils are run! Our Mission President, President Mecham, felt like all missionaries should be part of the council so that all of us will be better trained for a leadership responsibility at some point during their mission! I love the opportunity I have been given to serve a mission! It has already been a blessing in my life and my testimony has grown stronger than ever before! I love this gospel and I know that the Book of Mormon is true! I Love you all, Thank you for your support!

Now it's cold. sort of

Hallooo
Life here in good old Cody Wyoming is Awesome!! This past week the temperature dropped from the 60's to -10!!! With that came about 6-8 inches of snow and ice! After a few days in the negatives it has finally warmed up to about 20 or 30, just warm enough to not wear a coat over my suit coat! Also this week was transfers! Elder Brechter was transferred to Powell and I am now with Elder Horsley! Elder Horsley is from the wonderful place known as American Fork Utah! He is an awesome companion and we have been seeing some great success just in the past few days! Also this week we finally got settled into our Kottage and it is still amazing! Yes it is a Kottage not a cottage, at least that's what the sign says.
Since we had a baptism last week we spent a lot of our time this week finding new people to teach! It was amazing to see the blessings that come from diligently trying our best to work even when the weather is -10! It has been amazing to see that as we have been doing our best to contact people even in bad weather that we are blessed with people to teach! We spent much of our time going back through some names of former investigators. As we have done that we were able to find a few people that want to start meeting with us again! I love finding new people to talk to about the Gospel!
I know that truth has been restored and I know that the Book of Mormon is indeed another testament of Jesus Christ! I love being out on a mission and being able to share those truths with others!

Here is the picture of my cabin

Well it snowed...again.....kinda....

So last night it rained, than got super cold and snowed a little bit. So now the ground is covered in ice with a thin layer of snow on it! It’s a little difficult to walk in! Also the current temperature here is 10 degrees Fahrenheit or just to sound like its colder, -12 degrees Celsius. The cold just makes walking that much more fun!!!

Also this week has been really crazy! On Monday my companion hurt his knee and had to go to the doctor! As it turns out he has defiantly damaged his MCL and might have to get surgery! Never play soccer on Carpet!! With that fiasco and with it being transfer week. One of the elders in the other companionship here in Cody just finished his mission and is now home! Which means us elders here in Cody are in a trio for a few days until our new companions get here! My companion is being transferred up to Billings and I will be getting a new companion! Despite all the craziness it was still an awesome week! On Saturday we had a Baptism which was awesome! The spirit is always so strong at baptisms! On Sunday was her confirmation which was one of the most powerful experiences I had ever experienced! As I said the blessing for her confirmation I was able to feel that spirit stronger than I ever have! It was a testimony building experience for me! I truly cannot deny the spirit that was present! I know that this is the Gospel of Jesus Christ and that this is his true Church on earth today!
I know that each of us can gain our own personal testimony through reading, studying, and praying about the Book of Mormon! I love you All and I leave this Challenge with all who read this letter to read the Book of Mormon and to pray about it! Than Listen for an answer to that Prayer! If you sincerely do this I know that you will indeed receive an answer! Go ahead test it!!! I love all of you....yes I Love all those who read my letters, and those who do not.

Hallooo

This week was kinda crazy and awesome! So we are now living in a cottage. It is a rather nice arrangement. It has a full kitchen and a really nice heater! The weather is still pretty good, but snow is apparently coming any day! On our bike ride in to town today I felt just the perfect temperature, when we got in to town one of the signs said that it was 46 degrees. I think I'm getting used to the cooler weather. I'm not sure about the cold yet just because it hasn't really come.
So this week was a little crazy especially with Halloween. So on Halloween we had to be home by 6 pm which was weird because I’m used to getting home around 9 pm now. When we got home we decided to make a fire in our firepit outside our cottage. It was awesome! Also as we were sitting around our fire our new landlords came out with some Halloween candy for us and we spent the time just talking with them. It was a nice little relaxation. Also this week another one of our investigators had her baptismal interview and will be getting baptized next week!!! It will be awesome!!! I love teaching people! The spirit is always so strong when we teach. It is amazing to see the effect the spirit can have on people to change their lives for the better!! The spirit always testifies of truth!

This week...

Was ..crazy! So to start, out once again, I was in Powell for most of the week! So to start out with the fun and exciting things. There were two unique crazy experiences that happened in Powell that I have never had happen in my entire life. The first, slightly less exciting one, was that I learned how to crack a whip! It was kinda awesome! A member in Powell had a very nice kangaroo leather bull whip and taught me how to crack it. It was rather amazing! also the craziest thing that happened this week was the raccoon. More specifically someone’s pet raccoon. Yes a pet raccoon. We went to go visit someone and they had a pet raccoon and they let us hold said pet raccoon! I almost want to get one as a pet now!
Also today we moved out of the basement we were staying in here in Cody and moved to a cottage that some members owned. It is a temporary move until we can find somewhere more permanent but it is a better living condition for the time being. So the move was kinda crazy because we found out yesterday we were moving out today and then this morning we were told that we had to be out of the house by 9 am. It was some massive craziness but I guess it had to be done.
So this week. With all the craziness happening it was nice this week to be able to attend a baptism. While I was in Powell we had the wonderful experience of having one of the people we were teaching be baptized. It was awesome! The spirit is always so strong at a baptismal service. I love watching the work here progress as well as watching people's lives change for the better. I know this gospel is true. I have seen it already change the lives of many people for the better. Jesus Christ’s true church has been restored on the earth. The fullness of the gospel is truly found in the Book of Mormon. I love being out here on a mission, sharing with random strangers that I meet on the street those amazing truths. With all the craziness happening this week I have found a lot of comfort in the gospel and in my own testimony of its truthfulness. I love this work. This is indeed the work of God.

With love

Winter is still yet to come...

So the weather likes to play tricks up here in Cody. Thankfully it has not plummeted temperature yet so it’s still warm-ish... This week the weather stayed for the most part the same so nothing too exciting in that regard. But we have to wear our suit coats all the time now so it gets really hot. The thought of the pending winter is always in the back of my mind as I look at the currently sunny skies.
This week we did a lot of finding and we found Five new people to teach. It was Awesome!! I really love teaching people; it is by far one of my favorite parts of the mission so far. After last week’s baptism we needed to contact and find some new people so we could keep having people to teach! As we have gone out to find new people we really have been blessed to find lots of new people! Also this week we got to do service for a food bank here in town. It was a neat experience to know that I was directly helping many people in need. My Favorite part of this week was Stake conference! It was cool because it was a regional conference and was broadcast to all the stakes in Wyoming, Montana, and Colorado. It is always amazing to hear the counsel and guidance given by the living apostles on earth today!  I know that as we listen to all the prophets and apostles that have lived on earth we can know how to become those individuals that our Heavenly Father wants us to become! I love this work and I Know that the book of Mormon contains the Fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! I love you all!

We Had A Baptism!!!!

So the Weather has been about perfect, with occasional light winds (30+mph). It hasn't snowed this week but we will see about that in weeks to come. No the temperature has been rather low and we woke up to ice this morning...Still no snow. The weather still can't seem to make up its mind. One day will be super strong winds and the next will be no wind at all its craziness!!!
This week has been awesome!! So the best part of the week was this Saturday!!! We had a Baptism!!!!!!! It was an amazing experience! What made it even more amazing for me was that I have been able to be here since the beginning! The first lesson we had with her was during my first week in Cody! It has been amazing to see her Progress and gain a testimony of the Gospel! Her cousin was the one to baptize her so Elder Brechter and I got to be the witnesses! It Truly has been an amazing experience for me and has really strengthened my testimony of the gospel. It has been awesome to see people change their lives for the better. I know following the gospel and trying our best to keep the commandments can indeed bless our lives. Millions of lives have been changed and millions of hearts have been turned toward Christ.
Also this week was kind of crazy! On Tuesday My companion Elder Brechter went on a short exchange to Burlington and one of the elders serving in Burlington came with me! It was a cool experience and it taught me an important lesson. Exchanges are always awesome because it sort of changes things up and personally gives me an opportunity to learn from other people. Elder Vasquez was the missionary that came with me and it was awesome! Elder Vasquez is a somewhat Quiet person. As a result of that, during those two days we were together it forced me to be the main person talking, which up until this point wasn't really the case very much. Those two days with Elder Vasquez Really taught me that I am able to do things that in my mind might be nerve racking but in reality are rather easy to do. I love having the opportunity to meet so many new people all the time and to see how many of them are sincerely looking for the truth. It is amazing to be that person to guide them to the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I Love the Gospel and I know it is true.

I Love Y'all
Sincerely

Letter Time Again

Its Letter Time again!!!!

This week was awesome and kinda Crazy!!!!  The weather here is still insane as usual!! At the beginning of the week it was super-hot. Then by the middle of the week it snowed again but this time it didn't stick. Finally the past three days have been super windy!!! It was such strong winds that it was actually sort of difficult to walk/bike in!! Our guess was that the winds were hitting 20 to 30 mph!! Thankfully it has not been hot the past few days because, due to general conference, we must start wearing our suit coats everywhere!!
So this week’s amazing happenings!! Well on Tuesday my companion had to go to court for a traffic ticket he got in his last area!! The craziest part about court was the people we saw!! One guy we had met just a few weeks ago!!! The craziest part was that he showed up in an orange jumpsuit and full cuffs (Hand and Ankle cuffs) with police escorts!!! It was Crazy!!! All went well with my companion and we are working harder than ever!! On Friday one of our investigators had her baptismal interview which was awesome!!! She is getting baptized this Saturday and it is going to be AMAZING!!! It is amazing to see other people learn and progress!! She is so excited for her baptism that she is just glowing!! She has come a long way and is ready for the journey ahead!! It is such an amazing feeling to have seen her progress from the first lesson we taught to now!!
General conference this week was amazing!!!! One of my favorite talks was by Elder Holland!! He spoke on helping those in need in any way we can, but he made sure to point out that everyone can help someone else in some way!! When we are in the service of those people around us, no matter how we are serving them, we are serving our God!! And when we are serving God he will bless us more than we can even imagine!! During the last session of conference we had the amazing opportunity to watch it with one of our new investigators!! It was an amazing experience to see how it touched her! It was also amazing how many of the talks seemed to talk directly to her especially Elder Bednar’s talk. His even started his talk by saying "My message is directed specifically to individuals who are not members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints"!! It was perfect!!!! I love being a missionary because it allows me to see even more how the spirit touches people and can lead them to make better choices in their lives!! I know that as we listen to the counsel of God given through the prophets and apostles throughout all time we can be greatly blessed in all that we do. I know that we have a living prophet here on earth today that is truly inspired of God on how to help us in these ever changing times!!

Here is a picture of the giant carrot I ate last week :)

Daily repentance

Halloo!
Well the transfer calls came in!! And the winning area that gets me is.....still Cody WY!!! So I’m not going anywhere but my companion Elder Swisher is headed to Miles City! My new companion is Elder Brechter!! We were already on an exchange for a week so it all worked out nicely! I still get to be in the awesome town of Cody with all its wacky weather!!! Speaking of weather...This week it jumped up to 100 degrees for a few days then literally overnight dropped to 40!!! The weather here cannot make up its mind!!! This past week was awesome!!
We found two new people to teach which is always amazing!!! My favorite part of this week was Wednesday!! On Wednesday afternoon we were trying to find a potential investigator!! As we were out and about we started to get the feeling that we weren’t getting anywhere! Elder Brechter then looked at me and said "Elder Kimball, we need to stop right now, refocus, and figure out what we are doing." After a little bit of thought I agreed and we started heading towards a place to stop and figure out what to do, but there was something different already. as we started walking we almost immediately got stop by a lady that was outside working on her yard. After talking for a little bit we found out she was a member but had not been to church in a really long time!! After talking with her we continued walking and at the very next house we started talking to another lady that was outside as well! Right there we were able to teach her a lesson and set up an appointment for Tuesday!! It was amazing to have that experience and it taught me a lot about repentance! In the repentance process first we recognize our mistake. During the repentance process we begin to make actions to change our ways and refocus on Christ! Elder Brechter and I realized that we weren’t doing what we needed to do, than we made a plan to change and fix our ways! Without even realizing it at the time we were using the repentance process! As we began to have that desire to change and refocus on Christ, we were immediately blessed with two new people to teach!! I testify that as we repent of all our mistakes, even the little ones of not focusing on the right person, we will be immediately blessed for our desire to change and will be able to touch the lives of those around us. I love being able to be here on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints and I know that The Gospel of Jesus Christ can Change Lives for the better no matter your current situation! I love my mission and I love the people here in Cody Wyoming! And I love You (That means you reading this letter right now :P )

The Lord Provides

Hello to all!!

Well all the snow has melted, and the weather is back up to 70. The past few days have been nice clear skies and the perfect temperature. The wind is beginning to get stronger lately which is making me nervous for that harsh weather that everyone says is coming! This winter is supposed to be the worst they have had here in years! I'm still trying to figure out how bad it’s going to be; The snow seemed bad enough!! There is some crazy weather here!
Well this week was Amazing!! First off we had Zone Conference on Tuesday! Zone Conference was awesome! The Zone Conference was all of the missionaries that are in the Greybull Basin area of Wyoming (The only part of Wyoming that my mission covers.)!! There were about 50 Missionaries there from two different Zones in our mission, The Wyoming North and Wyoming South Zones. It was an amazing experience to feel the power and spirit all the missionaries in one place! I learned a lot at the conference about how to become a better missionary and how to be more effective!! By applying what I have learned Elder Brechter and I have been able to have lot of success and more success to come!! It is amazing how the Lord has set people in priesthood callings to give us all personal guidance to help us improve in all that we do! As Missionaries He has given us our Mission President who helps is and teaches us each individually on how to be the best missionaries we can be!! As a world Heavenly Father has given us Prophets to guide His people and to teach them! I have been thinking a lot about prophets lately due to the fact that General Conference is in Two Weeks!! It is an amazing blessing to have a Living Prophet on Earth today and to listen to him speak on a regular basis! Prophets are indeed men called of God, and they truly testify of Jesus Christ! Both the Bible and The Book of Mormon affirm the role of prophets in this life! In Amos 3:7 in the bible it reads "surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets." and in the Book of Mormon Jacob 7:11 "none of the prophets have written, nor prophesied, save they have spoken concerning this Christ" . In the Mouth of Two or More Witnesses is all truth revealed.
Now for a crazy story this week. On Thursday Elder Brechter and I were out and about talking to everyone we saw when we came across Carl. Carl was in his yard cutting the tops off some carrots. We started talking to him and had a nice conversation! As we were starting to leave he gave us each a carrot from his garden. They were huge!!! At the time I was kind of hungry and it was a blessing to have a snack to eat! The Lord really does provide for those who serve him! I love being out on a mission and meeting new people every day!! I love you all!!!

September Weather

Snow in Cody

Hello
Guess What!! IT SNOWED!!! We woke up Tuesday morning to 4 inches of snow!!!!It was crazy! So the week started out really cold but its slipped into an "Indian summer" as it’s called in these parts. The weather is back up to the mid 80's. This week was awesome and crazy, again! First of all I’m back in Cody again, it’s good to be back. However after only two days back my companion went on another switch for a week so now i am with Elder Brechter for this week but we are in Cody still which is nice.
This week has been awesome and I have learned a lot. Yesterday elder Brechter and I had a awesome experience as we were out finding more people to teach! As we started out in the evening something didn't feel quite right. After a couple of minutes of this we decided to stop and say a prayer. After the prayer we still felt that we should continue with our original plan. The only difference was that now we felt good about it. As we went about talking to people we started to feel promptings to go to certain houses. As we followed the promptings we were led to the people we needed to see. Our plans didn't change at all after the prayer. The difference was that we were then more receptive to the guidance we needed to receive. I know that as were turn our focus to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ that we are then prepared to receive guidance through the Holy Ghost. Just like in the bible in Matthew chapter 14 when peter walks on the water to get to Christ. But when his focus leaves the Savior he begins to sink into the water. As long as he stayed focused on Christ through the storm he was able to do things that seem impossible. When we get distracted by the hard time and take our focus of the Savior we begin to sink into the depths of this stormy sea of a world. With all the craziness happening we need all the more to have a Christ centered attitude and as it says in Proverbs 3:5, " Trust in the Lord with all thy heart and lean not unto thy own understanding." We need to rely on him and trust in the guidance he gives us ion all that we do!

I love you all

Hello Again to all!
So this week was kinda crazy!! After emailing last week I was sent on a last minute exchange to the nearby town of Powell!! I have been here all week and it has been awesome!! It’s been a crazy shuffle because my companion went with another set of missionaries for a while and I went with the zone leaders. After a few days one of the zone leaders went out to Burlington leaving me and the other zone leader here in Powell! So Elder Braden (that zone leader I'm here with) and I have been doing lots of work!!
This week there were two amazing things that happened!! The first was that we got to go to the temple as an entire zone!! It was incredible to feel the spirit that is there in the temple!! Being in he temple with all the other missionaries brings a whole new spirit into the temple!! The blessings that come from attending the temple are in numerable!! Despite the fact that it was almost 250 miles round trip, the feelings of the spirit and the feelings of mission unity are well worth the sacrifice!!
The second amazing thing that happened this week happened yesterday! When we were planning for Sunday I had the thought to try something new! The plan was to be at the local park (Washington Park) from 6:30 to 7:00 pm. This time however we were going to arrive early and we were going to say a prayer before we did anything!! All went as planned and during that 30-minute time we were able to find three new people to teach!!! This experience really taught me a lot about prayer! The main lesson that I learned was that as we make ourselves available to the Lord by setting specific plans and following through with those plans, He will place people in our path that He has prepared to talk with us! Heavenly Father wants to bless our lives! As we trust Him and prepare ourselves to listen and follow the guidance he gives us we can receive those blessings from Him!! Heavenly Father Loves us all and we are His Children!! The blessings He has in store for us are more than we can imagine!! As we do our best to follow His teachings we will ultimately be able to return to live with Him in the Eternities!! I Love this work and I know that this truly is the Gospel of Jesus Christ!!
I love you all!!!

Pickled Eggs

Pickled eggs..I ate!  They were pickled with garlic, onion, dill, jalapenos, and beet juice for color.

Off roading in Cody.

Wyoming mud. The weather changes quickly.

Work in Cody

Hello All!!

Well yesterday was Labor Day and the library was closed so I get to email today instead!! This past week has been awesome!! So the weather here in Cody is a little Bi-polar and everyone is saying it’s going to be a long winter!! My companion and I were walking between appointments one day in the partly cloudy weather and not 5 minutes later it started to downpour from entirely cloudy skies!!! Then much to our relief we were blessed with a ride just as the hale started!!!! There are a lot of freak storms like that here!
This week has been awesome!! I am finally starting not be lost in this small but confusing town. This week we spent most of our time finding new people to teach. It made me really nervous to knock on random doors but after a few hours I started to get more comfortable.
As fun as finding is, my favorite part is being able to teach people and help them learn about the Gospel of Jesus Christ!! Earlier this week one of our Investigators committed to be baptized later this month!! It is really amazing to see her progress towards that goal!! During the lessons the Spirit is so powerful it is incredible!! It brings me joy to see how people are changing their lives for the better!! I love it here and I love the people here!! I know that what I am out here teaching is true!! I know that is has the power to change our lives for the better and help us grow closer to our Father in Heaven!!

I love it Here!!

New Arrivals in the Montana Mission

Cody Wyoming

Hello Everyone
I guess I should actually say Howdy!! Well as expected they sent me to one of the few biking areas in the entire mission. I'm down south in Cody Wyoming, cowboy country. It is Beautiful Here!!!! My Companion is Elder Swisher. He's from a little place called Brentwood, in the awesome state of California.
Well this week has been kinda crazy!!! I arrived in the mission on Tuesday to an amazing meal prepared for us new missionaries by Sister Mecham, The Mission President Wife. On Wednesday we were given our Transfer slips telling us where we were going and who was going to be our trainers. So the Cody Wyoming 3rd ward it was, With Elder Swisher. I cant believe this is already day 5 here in Cody!!! It is awesome here!! The ward is so amazing!! We get a lot of support from the members here and also a lot of food!! Despite how much we bike/walk i almost feel like we are eating more!! But the most important part is the work!!
Our ward has a lot of Less Active Members and Part Member Families So that is where we have been focusing! Also this ward gives us a lot of Referrals so we are kept very busy. Its awesome to have already seen Miracles happening in peoples lives having only been here for a few days. There is one family that just started coming back to church recently and the father has been able to kick his chewing habit so that in the next few months he and his family can go to the Temple to be sealed for time and all eternity! It is amazing to see his determination to change his life so he can be with his growing family for ever. I know i made that sound easy but for him it was a real challenge because he works out in the oil fields and from what I have heard so far its a tough life out there!
It brings me so much joy to see and hear how people have changed their lives and how much of a blessing it is to them. I know now Without a doubt in my mind that this is where i am supposed to be at this time. When i first got to the Mission home I prayed to know for sure if this is where i was supposed to be. That first night in the mission home we had a testimony meeting for all of us new missionaries. The Spirit in that room was so strong it was almost tangible. It was during that meeting that I came to Know for a fact that out here on a mission is where i need to be. I love it here in this mission with all the Champions i meet every day!!! Its a Blast out here!!!

On to Montana

Hey all!!!
So I'm emailing  a day early due to the fact that I am leaving the MTC in the wee hours of the morning tomorrow.....in other words we leave before 6:30 am. It’s going to be brutal. One of the hardest parts will be that I will miss the MTC. The feeling here will be hard to maintain all by myself out in the field, but Challenge Accepted. Last Night we had a Devotional from Jenny Oaks Baker.  It was Awesome because she performed for us as well as spoke. She talked on having faith to overcome challenges and through that faith we can grow closer to our Heavenly Father. As we put our trust in him and put all our effort in to do our best we will be successful, regardless of others. That is another principal that I learned this week, that my success on my mission and in life cannot be based on the choices of others. as long as we put our best effort in and trust in the Lord (Proverbs 3:5) He will guide us in all that we need to do and will bless us for our efforts. Now the path will not always be easy, He never said it would be, but in the words of a Pioneer “It will all be worth it". I know that as I Leave tomorrow to arrive in Montana, there will be many challenges waiting for me in every area I serve. In the words of one of my teachers here at the MTC “Attitude Makes a Mission". I want to Make My Mission Great!! I heard a quote this week said by the Former Prophet, President Spencer W. Kimball "My Life like my shoes should be worn out in service." I am on this mission to serve others. I want "worn out Shoes". I love this mission; I know this is the place that I should at this time. I love and miss you all. If you have Questions ask the Missionaries.

Elder Kimball and Elder Svedin

Mission Training experience

Hallooooo Family and Friends,
These first few days in the MTC (Missionary Training Center) have been AWESOME!!! My companion is Elder Svedin, he is from ST. George. He is Awesome!!! We really hit it off well because we both have older sisters on Missions Right now!! His sister is in Colorado. Being here in the MTC really is an incredible experience. As long as you are doing what you are supposed to be doing, the channel of the spirit is in full force. The Analogy that is commonly used is we have gone from drinking out of a drinking fountain of the spirit to trying to drink out of a fire hydrant, And I don't think there is a better way to explain it. The spirit is so powerful that Sunday didn't feel very different from class. The days have already begun to blend together.
On Friday I went on splits with another elder in my district, Elder Holmes, to go to the MTC choir. In Choir we were learning the song "Nearer My God To Thee." It was Incredible to be part of the Hundreds of Missionaries that were part of the Choir! On Monday My district started our TRC lessons. I’m not really sure what TRC stands for but I think it is Teach Real Converts. We got to teach a Lady Named Sydney Young. That first lesson was an awesome experience!!! During The Lesson The spirit was literally flowing like a water fall into the room. All six of us in our district and Sydney felt the spirit throughout the lesson. That was just one of the many Miracles I have seen every day here.
I have learned so much here it’s almost overwhelming!! Today we were let out of the gates and got to go up the hill to the temple! A few people in my zone have been struggling adjusting to MTC life so we decided to have a Zone fast. Going to the temple fasting is literally one of the Most Amazing Things I have Ever Experienced!!! The whole zone and especially my district has really bonded and those bonds are even stronger now after the Temple. My district is so close it’s almost like I have five companions instead of just one! When it comes to being the happiest place on earth Disneyland has nothing on the MTC
I love it here and wouldn't trade this for anything
This is My Joy Alma 29:9

Sincerely
Elder Cameron Kimball
