This week...

Was ..crazy! So to start, out once again, I was in Powell for most of the week! So to start out with the fun and exciting things. There were two unique crazy experiences that happened in Powell that I have never had happen in my entire life. The first, slightly less exciting one, was that I learned how to crack a whip! It was kinda awesome! A member in Powell had a very nice kangaroo leather bull whip and taught me how to crack it. It was rather amazing! also the craziest thing that happened this week was the raccoon. More specifically someone’s pet raccoon. Yes a pet raccoon. We went to go visit someone and they had a pet raccoon and they let us hold said pet raccoon! I almost want to get one as a pet now!
Also today we moved out of the basement we were staying in here in Cody and moved to a cottage that some members owned. It is a temporary move until we can find somewhere more permanent but it is a better living condition for the time being. So the move was kinda crazy because we found out yesterday we were moving out today and then this morning we were told that we had to be out of the house by 9 am. It was some massive craziness but I guess it had to be done.
So this week. With all the craziness happening it was nice this week to be able to attend a baptism. While I was in Powell we had the wonderful experience of having one of the people we were teaching be baptized. It was awesome! The spirit is always so strong at a baptismal service. I love watching the work here progress as well as watching people's lives change for the better. I know this gospel is true. I have seen it already change the lives of many people for the better. Jesus Christ’s true church has been restored on the earth. The fullness of the gospel is truly found in the Book of Mormon. I love being out here on a mission, sharing with random strangers that I meet on the street those amazing truths. With all the craziness happening this week I have found a lot of comfort in the gospel and in my own testimony of its truthfulness. I love this work. This is indeed the work of God.

With love

Winter is still yet to come...

So the weather likes to play tricks up here in Cody. Thankfully it has not plummeted temperature yet so it’s still warm-ish... This week the weather stayed for the most part the same so nothing too exciting in that regard. But we have to wear our suit coats all the time now so it gets really hot. The thought of the pending winter is always in the back of my mind as I look at the currently sunny skies.
This week we did a lot of finding and we found Five new people to teach. It was Awesome!! I really love teaching people; it is by far one of my favorite parts of the mission so far. After last week’s baptism we needed to contact and find some new people so we could keep having people to teach! As we have gone out to find new people we really have been blessed to find lots of new people! Also this week we got to do service for a food bank here in town. It was a neat experience to know that I was directly helping many people in need. My Favorite part of this week was Stake conference! It was cool because it was a regional conference and was broadcast to all the stakes in Wyoming, Montana, and Colorado. It is always amazing to hear the counsel and guidance given by the living apostles on earth today!  I know that as we listen to all the prophets and apostles that have lived on earth we can know how to become those individuals that our Heavenly Father wants us to become! I love this work and I Know that the book of Mormon contains the Fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! I love you all!

We Had A Baptism!!!!

So the Weather has been about perfect, with occasional light winds (30+mph). It hasn't snowed this week but we will see about that in weeks to come. No the temperature has been rather low and we woke up to ice this morning...Still no snow. The weather still can't seem to make up its mind. One day will be super strong winds and the next will be no wind at all its craziness!!!
This week has been awesome!! So the best part of the week was this Saturday!!! We had a Baptism!!!!!!! It was an amazing experience! What made it even more amazing for me was that I have been able to be here since the beginning! The first lesson we had with her was during my first week in Cody! It has been amazing to see her Progress and gain a testimony of the Gospel! Her cousin was the one to baptize her so Elder Brechter and I got to be the witnesses! It Truly has been an amazing experience for me and has really strengthened my testimony of the gospel. It has been awesome to see people change their lives for the better. I know following the gospel and trying our best to keep the commandments can indeed bless our lives. Millions of lives have been changed and millions of hearts have been turned toward Christ.
Also this week was kind of crazy! On Tuesday My companion Elder Brechter went on a short exchange to Burlington and one of the elders serving in Burlington came with me! It was a cool experience and it taught me an important lesson. Exchanges are always awesome because it sort of changes things up and personally gives me an opportunity to learn from other people. Elder Vasquez was the missionary that came with me and it was awesome! Elder Vasquez is a somewhat Quiet person. As a result of that, during those two days we were together it forced me to be the main person talking, which up until this point wasn't really the case very much. Those two days with Elder Vasquez Really taught me that I am able to do things that in my mind might be nerve racking but in reality are rather easy to do. I love having the opportunity to meet so many new people all the time and to see how many of them are sincerely looking for the truth. It is amazing to be that person to guide them to the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I Love the Gospel and I know it is true.

I Love Y'all
Sincerely

Letter Time Again

Its Letter Time again!!!!

This week was awesome and kinda Crazy!!!!  The weather here is still insane as usual!! At the beginning of the week it was super-hot. Then by the middle of the week it snowed again but this time it didn't stick. Finally the past three days have been super windy!!! It was such strong winds that it was actually sort of difficult to walk/bike in!! Our guess was that the winds were hitting 20 to 30 mph!! Thankfully it has not been hot the past few days because, due to general conference, we must start wearing our suit coats everywhere!!
So this week’s amazing happenings!! Well on Tuesday my companion had to go to court for a traffic ticket he got in his last area!! The craziest part about court was the people we saw!! One guy we had met just a few weeks ago!!! The craziest part was that he showed up in an orange jumpsuit and full cuffs (Hand and Ankle cuffs) with police escorts!!! It was Crazy!!! All went well with my companion and we are working harder than ever!! On Friday one of our investigators had her baptismal interview which was awesome!!! She is getting baptized this Saturday and it is going to be AMAZING!!! It is amazing to see other people learn and progress!! She is so excited for her baptism that she is just glowing!! She has come a long way and is ready for the journey ahead!! It is such an amazing feeling to have seen her progress from the first lesson we taught to now!!
General conference this week was amazing!!!! One of my favorite talks was by Elder Holland!! He spoke on helping those in need in any way we can, but he made sure to point out that everyone can help someone else in some way!! When we are in the service of those people around us, no matter how we are serving them, we are serving our God!! And when we are serving God he will bless us more than we can even imagine!! During the last session of conference we had the amazing opportunity to watch it with one of our new investigators!! It was an amazing experience to see how it touched her! It was also amazing how many of the talks seemed to talk directly to her especially Elder Bednar’s talk. His even started his talk by saying "My message is directed specifically to individuals who are not members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints"!! It was perfect!!!! I love being a missionary because it allows me to see even more how the spirit touches people and can lead them to make better choices in their lives!! I know that as we listen to the counsel of God given through the prophets and apostles throughout all time we can be greatly blessed in all that we do. I know that we have a living prophet here on earth today that is truly inspired of God on how to help us in these ever changing times!!

Here is a picture of the giant carrot I ate last week :)

Daily repentance

Halloo!
Well the transfer calls came in!! And the winning area that gets me is.....still Cody WY!!! So I’m not going anywhere but my companion Elder Swisher is headed to Miles City! My new companion is Elder Brechter!! We were already on an exchange for a week so it all worked out nicely! I still get to be in the awesome town of Cody with all its wacky weather!!! Speaking of weather...This week it jumped up to 100 degrees for a few days then literally overnight dropped to 40!!! The weather here cannot make up its mind!!! This past week was awesome!!
We found two new people to teach which is always amazing!!! My favorite part of this week was Wednesday!! On Wednesday afternoon we were trying to find a potential investigator!! As we were out and about we started to get the feeling that we weren’t getting anywhere! Elder Brechter then looked at me and said "Elder Kimball, we need to stop right now, refocus, and figure out what we are doing." After a little bit of thought I agreed and we started heading towards a place to stop and figure out what to do, but there was something different already. as we started walking we almost immediately got stop by a lady that was outside working on her yard. After talking for a little bit we found out she was a member but had not been to church in a really long time!! After talking with her we continued walking and at the very next house we started talking to another lady that was outside as well! Right there we were able to teach her a lesson and set up an appointment for Tuesday!! It was amazing to have that experience and it taught me a lot about repentance! In the repentance process first we recognize our mistake. During the repentance process we begin to make actions to change our ways and refocus on Christ! Elder Brechter and I realized that we weren’t doing what we needed to do, than we made a plan to change and fix our ways! Without even realizing it at the time we were using the repentance process! As we began to have that desire to change and refocus on Christ, we were immediately blessed with two new people to teach!! I testify that as we repent of all our mistakes, even the little ones of not focusing on the right person, we will be immediately blessed for our desire to change and will be able to touch the lives of those around us. I love being able to be here on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints and I know that The Gospel of Jesus Christ can Change Lives for the better no matter your current situation! I love my mission and I love the people here in Cody Wyoming! And I love You (That means you reading this letter right now :P )

This is my Joy (Alma 29:9)
Love
